The Polyend Press brings transparent, studio-grade VCA compression to your pedalboard or synth rig. Featuring a fully analog signal path, it offers professional control over threshold, ratio, attack, and release. With a built-in Tilt EQ on the wet signal and versatile sidechain filtering, it’s the perfect "end-of-chain" processor to glue your mix together.

Press is a fully analog stereo compressor with features typically found only in professional studio gear but with additional controls used in modern VSTs blending the tight, natural response of classic analog rack units with additional controls and features that cannot be found in other pedals.

STEREO IN/Out

Required to be first in your signal chain no longer, use Press as a finalizing compressor and free yourself from the limits of mono compression.

Full Analog circuitry

Transparent analog compression with a pristine response and high headroom.

Parallel compression

Dial back the mix for parallel compression without worrying about the phase issues of digital devices.

Variable Ratio up to Limiting

Control the compressor’s ratio from subtle 2:1 compression up to limiting levels.

Tilt EQ

A single knob to boost highs and cut lows or boost lows and cut highs, active on the wet signal only for added versatility.

Sidechain High and Low Pass Filters

Shape and filter the signal triggering the compressor without altering the dry tone for unparalleled control.

Internal or External Sidechain

Switch between triggering the gain reduction circuit via the signal passing through the compressor or an external stereo source via the dedicated stomp-switch.

Compact aluminum body

Sturdy all-aluminum construction (including the knobs), in a small, portable form factor.

FAQs

Q: Where should I put the Press in my signal chain?
A: While you can put it anywhere, its "superpower" is as an end-of-chain master compressor. Put it after your delays and reverbs to "glue" your sound together and ensure your peaks don't clip your recording interface or PA system.

Q: What cables do I need for stereo use?
A: The Press uses TRS jacks (Stereo Jacks) for its 6.3mm input and output. To use it with a stereo synth like the Polyend Play+, you’ll need a "Stereo Breakout" cable (2 x Mono 6.3mm to 1 x Stereo 6.3mm TRS).

Q: Does it color my sound?
A: The Press is designed to be transparent. It won't add "grit" or "drive" like some vintage tube compressors; instead, it provides a clean, polished, and professional response that makes your gear sound like a finished record.

Q: Can I use it with a guitar?
A: Absolutely. It has a Line/Instrument toggle switch on the back. Set it to "Instrument" to perfectly match the high-impedance signal of a passive electric guitar or bass.

Q: What is the "Sidechain Thru" for?
A: This is a brilliant feature that lets you pass your sidechain trigger (like your kick drum) back out to the rest of your rig. This means you don't need a splitter to send your kick to both the compressor and your mixer.

Features

Fully Analog Signal Path: Transparent VCA-style compression that preserves your original tone while providing high headroom and a professional "finished" sound.

True Stereo I/O: Unlike most pedals, this has full stereo inputs and outputs, making it the perfect "final stage" for stereo synths, drum machines, or your master mix bus.

Parallel Compression (Mix Control): A dedicated Mix knob allows for "New York-style" compression—blend your dry signal with the compressed signal to maintain punchy transients while adding sustain and weight.

The "Magic" Tilt EQ: A single-knob EQ that acts on the compressed (wet) signal only. Tilt clockwise to boost highs and cut lows (adds clarity) or counter-clockwise to boost lows and cut highs (adds warmth).

Advanced Sidechain Controls: Features both internal and external stereo sidechaining. Use the dedicated footswitch to toggle an external trigger (like a kick drum) for that classic pumping dance music effect.

Internal Sidechain Filters: Includes high-pass and low-pass filters for the sidechain circuit. This prevents bass-heavy kicks from "pumping" your whole mix too much or harsh highs from over-triggering the gain reduction.

Rugged Desktop/Pedal Design: Encased in a sturdy aluminum chassis with high-quality knobs and an elegant white LED gain reduction meter.
