The Thinking Man's MIDI Hub
The Lightreft.jp Monolit is a multifunctional "MIDI computer" that acts as a bridge between your creative intent and your entire studio. Far beyond a simple set of faders, the Monolit is a programmable performance instrument capable of generating its own LFOs, recording complex motion automation, and acting as a standalone MIDI workstation without a computer.
Inspired by the open-source ethos of boutique gear, the Monolit offers a blank canvas for expression. Its minimalist interface houses eight precision sliders and thirteen tactile buttons, providing fast access to eight banks of 64 custom controls per preset. Whether you are performing live with hardware or managing a complex DAW session, the Monolit's versatile modes—including a built-in sequencer and motion looper—ensure it evolves with your sound.
FAQs
FAQs
Q: Why is this called a "MIDI Computer" rather than just a controller?
A: Because it processes data internally. Beyond just sending CC messages, the Monolit has 4 operational modes: LFO mode (generates internal modulation), Motion mode (records and loops your slider movements), Notes mode (melodic sequencing), and CC mode (standard control with adjustable lag/smoothing).
Q: Can I use it without a computer?
A: Yes. It is designed for DAWless setups. With USB Host and TRS MIDI connectivity, you can plug in a Monome Grid or a standard MIDI keyboard and use the Monolit as the central "brain" to process and route signals to your hardware synths.
Q: How many parameters can I control at once?
A: Each preset contains 8 banks, with 8 sliders and 8 buttons per bank. That’s 128 customizable controls per preset, all housed in a beautiful, single-piece aluminum chassis.
