Q: Is this just another groovebox?
A: No. While it looks like a sequencer, the Polyend Synth is a dedicated multitimbral synthesizer. It is designed to be played as 8 separate instruments at once, making it the perfect sound module for your DAW or a hardware sequencer like the Torso T-1.
Q: Can I use it as my only sound source for a live set?
A: Absolutely. Because it is 8-part multitimbral, you can have a drum engine on track 1, a bass on track 2, pads on track 3, and leads on track 4, etc. It provides a full studio’s worth of synthesis in a footprint smaller than a tablet.
Q: How do the different "engines" work?
A: Instead of being a "jack of all trades," Polyend built specific engines for specific sounds. If you want 303-style bass, you use the ACD engine. If you want epic movie pads, you use GRA (Granular). This ensures every sound has a distinct, high-quality character.
Q: Can it record its own audio?
A: It doesn't function as a standalone sampler/recorder (like the Polyend Tracker), but it can stream 8 channels of stereo audio directly into your DAW via USB, allowing for professional multitrack recording.
