Shape Effects Your Way with Endless

Endless is a user defined platform with multiple paths to effect creation. Craft your own effects or describe a sound and get a ready-to-use effect using Polyend’s Playground tool (beta). Swapping sounds is as simple as dragging a file to the pedal over USB-C. It’s built for durability with a custom-machined aluminum enclosure and knobs, and designed for customization with a magnetic faceplate that is removable and swappable.

How to Create?

Polyend Playground - An Effect Creation System for Everyone.

The Playground is a text-based environment for effect creation. Give the Playground a description of an effect, and code is generated, tested, compiled, and a ready-to-load effect is provided. Just drag and drop the file over USB-C, and you are done!
A token system is used for the Playground when generating effects. No subscriptions, cloud fees, or costs to try others’ effects. Try a formant-filtered delay that repeats different vowels based on how hard you play, or a Euclidean pattern stutter that reverses on stomp. If you can describe it, the Playground will build it for you.

Open source - need more control? We got you covered!

Know your way around code editors/IDEs and have some C++ knowledge, or are you ready and eager to learn? Polyend provides a GitHub repository with an SDK and examples to get you started at fully developing your own effects for Endless.

What Can You Create?

Outside of the scope of the hardware, no limits are placed on what you can create with Endless. Describe or code effects that have never existed or create any form of standard effects like reverbs, amp sims, loopers, and drives. Try a pitch shifter that only triggers when you play bass notes on a guitar or a drum machine with a fill that only plays when no audio input is detected. Examples of currently available effects created using the Playground include:

  • Tessera - transforms a signal into microlooping arpeggios
  • Tape Scanner - warm, gritty, lo-fi tape delay.
  • VHS LoFi - VHS Emulation from fresh tapes to dusty old VHS.
  • Memory Cloud - a field of grains that can be reversed, randomize and morphed from delay to reverb.
  • 65’ Sparkle - an amp simulation, a bit of drive makes the cat inside purr.
  • Glitch Loop - record a loop, and Endless will slice it into glitchy pieces on playback.
  • Arp - an arpeggiating pitch shifter with multiple playback modes.
  • Multidrive - multiband drive with separate saturators applied to three selectable drive bands with multi-modes for different drives.

Community Effects - A Growing Library

Endless effects are designed to be freely shared. Swap the effect as many times as you wish. An expansive library of free effects is available now, with more effects being added daily.

You own what you create, so sharing is always optional.

Hardware designed for durability and customization

  • Aluminium Enclosure and Knobs. Durable machined-aluminum design.
  • Magnetic Swappable Faceplate. Change plates, design your own. Blank plate is available at launch.
  • Three Knobs, Multiple Functions. Access dedicated secondary controls for the analog input level, output level, and mix.
  • Multicolor LED Indicator. LED Colors change based on the second stompswitch
latching on short or long presses.
  • Dual Stompswitches. The * stomp is freely assignable on both tap and hold.
  • Configurable I/O. Switch between Stereo, Mono, and Mono to Stereo functionality.

Polyend Endless Feature Summary

Multiple creation paths: code in C++ (open examples) or describe effects in Playground (beta), no coding required.

  • Pedalboard-ready hardware: compact aluminum enclosure with stereo 48 kHz / 24-bit audio and low-noise analog preamp.
  • Made to customize: magnetic, writable faceplate system; blank plate in the box; additional designs available.
  • Expanding Effect Collection: Browse over 50+ custom effects available to download at launch, with more added daily.
  • Revolutionary Code-Free Effect Creation: The Playground is a new way to make
effects. Describe an effect, and code is generated, tested, compiled, and ready to load on the pedal in minutes.
  • Open Source Repository: Use Polyend’s open source examples and templates to code in C++, or create your own pedal from scratch.

Good to know

Playground access requires a registered Endless device. Community effects are free; tokens apply only when generating new effects in Playground (beta).

FAQs

Q: Is this an AI pedal or a C++ pedal?

A: It’s both. At its core, it is a high-performance C++ DSP platform. The "Playground AI" is simply an optional tool that writes the C++ code for you based on your text descriptions.

Q: How many effects can I run at once?

A: The hardware hosts one active effect at a time. However, a single "effect" can be a complex chain (e.g., an AI-generated patch that includes both a fuzz and a modulated delay).

Q: Do I have to pay every time I want a new sound?

A: No. You only use Tokens when you ask the AI to "invent" a brand-new algorithm in the Playground. Downloading effects from the community library or writing your own C++ code is completely free.

Q: What are the tokens for?

A: Tokens cover the cloud-computing costs of the AI generation. A new unit comes with $20 in tokens, which is enough for roughly 5–10 new effect "prompts" and iterations.

Q: How do I change the look of the pedal for different effects?

A: The Endless uses a unique magnetic faceplate system. You can swap between blank plates (for your own labels) or artist-designed plates that match specific community algorithms.

Q: Can I use it with line-level gear like my Polyend Tracker?

A: Absolutely. It features high-quality 48kHz / 24-bit stereo I/O and a low-noise analog preamp, making it just as capable for synths and studio re-amping as it is for guitar.

Q: How do I load the effects?

A: It’s simple drag-and-drop. Connect the pedal to your computer via USB-C, and it appears as a drive. Drop your effect file in, and you're ready to play.

Features

Playground AI Engine: A world-first text-based builder. You type a description (e.g., "A gritty lo-fi tape delay with an octave shimmer") into the online Playground, and it generates a compiled, ready-to-load effect file for the pedal.

Open Source C++: For advanced users, Polyend provides a GitHub SDK to code custom DSP algorithms from scratch.

Magnetic Faceplates: A unique swappable front-plate system. It ships with a blank plate that you can label yourself, with artist-designed plates available to match specific effects.

Secondary Controls: The three main knobs feature a "Shift" layer (held via the Bypass switch) to access the analog preamp level, master output, and wet/dry mix.

Massive Library: Ships with a growing collection of professional effects including Tape Scanner (Lo-fi delay), Memory Cloud (Granular), and 65' Sparkle (Amp sim).

Token System: Uses a "pay-per-prompt" system for generating new AI effects in the Playground. New units typically include $20 in tokens to get started.
