For decades, the Haken Continuum was the "holy grail" of expressive synthesis—massive, expensive, and intimidating. The ContinuuMini changes the game. It packs the same high-resolution 3D sensing technology and the formidable EaganMatrix sound engine into a form factor that fits in a backpack.
This isn't just a controller; it’s an acoustic-modeling powerhouse. The touch surface tracks your finger in three dimensions with zero latency: X (pitch), Y (timbre/pressure), and Z (velocity). It turns your gestures into a living, breathing sound that mimics the complexity of a cello string or the air moving through a flute.
If you’ve been looking for an instrument that bridges the gap between digital precision and physical emotion, the ContinuuMini is your destination.
Portable, affordable, expressive.
The ContinuuMini is more portable and affordable than the larger Continuum Fingerboards, and has its own unique feel and capabilities.
The ContinuuMini incorporates the highly-regarded EaganMatrix Sound Engine for a self-contained playing experience. It can also control external hardware and software through MPE and MPE+ USB-Midi.
An Expressive Playing Surface
The playing surface responds to an incredibly light touch, lighter than playing a piano, guitar or a regular modern Midi keyboard controller.
Nuances of finger movement are captured and translated into sound through interaction between this highly-optimized playing surface and the internal EaganMatrix Sound Engine.
EaganMatrix Inside
Like the larger Continuum Fingerboards, the ContinuuMini’s EaganMatrix Sound Engine has 500+ quality MPE+ Presets. Each preset can be edited through the Haken Editor.
FAQs
FAQs
Q: Does it have its own internal sounds?
A: Yes! Unlike many expressive controllers, the ContinuuMini is a full synthesizer. It features the EaganMatrix sound engine, so you can plug in headphones and play without a computer.
Q: Is it hard to learn if I play traditional piano?
A: There is a learning curve because it is continuous (like a violin string). However, you can set "Pitch Rounding" to help you stay in tune while you get used to the tactile response of the surface.
Q: How do I edit the sounds?
A: You can use the EaganMatrix Editor (available for Mac/PC) to dive deep into the modular architecture of the synth and create your own custom 3D patches.
