SWYNX is a sync box that converts MIDI clock signals into MIDI clock, DIN sync, CR-78 clock, and analogue clock. In addition, it allows you to add swing to all clock outputs and select different time signatures- both adjustable in real time- and also serves as a pattern programmer for the CR-78.
SWYNX transforms MIDI clock signals into MIDI, DIN sync, and analog clock outputs-offering not only absolute precision but also creative flexibility. With the integrated controls for time signature and swing, devices can be perfectly synchronized in no time.
Vintage gear finally gains that crucial extra: a lively swing feel that can be adjusted in real time in ultra-fine 0.5% increments- without any modifications or hardware changes. Sequencers and drum machines also benefit from extended time signatures and pre-scales.
A special highlight: SWYNX seamlessly synchronizes the legendary Roland CR-78 via MIDI, adds swing to its internal patterns, and allows you to program your own grooves directly into user memory-easily via a MIDI keyboard.

Blip Expert Take
If you are running an original Roland TR-808, a TB-303, or an early analog sequencer, you already know the heartbreak of flat timing lines. Those vintage drum machines sound spectacular, but their built-in internal clocks cannot shuffle. Slave-syncing them directly to a modern computer interface usually leaves them sounding sterile and mechanical. The Future Retro Swynx completely rewrites this dynamic.
By running your master clock through the Swynx first, you can dial in an incredibly deep, loose swing and push it straight down the DIN Sync line. Your vintage 808 will suddenly swing just as hard and funkily as a modern 909 or a modern MPC tracker, completely transforming the pocket of your live tracks.
The Legendary Hidden Feature: If you are lucky enough to own a vintage Roland CR-78, the Swynx is an absolute mandatory studio asset. Original WS-1 or TS-1 hardware programmers for the CR-78 are near-impossible to find and cost a fortune. The Swynx features a dedicated CR-78 Step-Write Programmer Mode. By connecting a standard MIDI controller keyboard to the Swynx input, you can write custom step-sequenced patterns straight into the CR-78’s internal memory locations, using the Swynx knobs to select your metric clock divisions on the fly. It completely rejuvenates classic hardware.
Who Is This For?
Vintage Gear Traditionalists: Synthesists tracking original Roland x0x boxes, Korg Electribes, or early analog sequencers who need cohesive sync integrated with fluid, modern timing variations.
Live Hardware Improvisers: Electronic artists who want real-time, screen-free tactile command over studio time signatures, metric shuffles, and swing percentages while performing on dark club stages.
FAQs
FAQs
A: Yes, absolutely. Original DIN Sync machines (like the TR-808 and TB-303) have internal clocks that are incapable of swinging on their own. When you slave-sync them directly to your DAW, they stay completely rigid. The Swynx accepts a standard incoming MIDI clock from your computer, calculates your chosen shuffle amount in real time, and sends a beautifully swung Sync24 clock pulse down the DIN Sync line. Your 808 patterns will instantly absorb that loose groove without needing any internal hardware modifications.
Q: Can I change time signatures and shuffle percentages on the fly while my live set is running?
A: Yes, the Swynx is explicitly engineered to act as an active live performance instrument. Both the Swing percentage dial and the Time Signature selector update their underlying internal clock calculations instantly upon turning the knobs. This allows you to fluidly shift from a tight 50% straight groove into an incredibly loose 70% swing, or break a 4/4 time grid down into an aggressive 7/8 tribal pattern mid-sequence without having to stop or restart your master sequencer or drum machines.
