A: If you want to connect two pieces of hardware together (e.g., a keyboard to a synth), you need two sets. If you are connecting a piece of hardware to a Bluetooth-enabled device like an iPad or Mac, you only need one.

A: As long as your device has a standard 5-pin DIN MIDI port that provides power (which almost all do), it will work perfectly. It supports both 3.3V and 5V MIDI power.
