Use Mutate to hear new variations on the fly, try a different octave, adjust note lengths, add silences, overdub additional notes, record Bend and Wheel automations keep ideas evolving with immediacy.
4 KNOBS TO RULE THEM ALL
Four dedicated encoders provide immediate, hands-on command over the Arpeggiator, Sequencer, and Mutate parameters, for a streamlined performance workflow and minimal menu diving. These are also freely assignable to custom MIDI CC and CV/Gate destinations.
HARDWARE CONNECTIVITY

FAQs
FAQs
Can the KeyStep 37 MK2 control modular gear and software at the same time?
Yes. You can output MIDI via USB-C to your DAW (like Ableton or Logic) while simultaneously sending CV/Gate signals to your Eurorack or semi-modular synths. It serves as an ideal "bridge" for hybrid setups.
Does it require an external power supply?
In most cases, no. The KeyStep 37 MK2 is fully USB-C bus-powered. If you are using it standalone with just a 5-pin MIDI cable (no computer), you can use an optional 12V DC power adapter (sold separately) or a standard USB power brick.
What is "Spice & Dice"?
These are Arturia’s creative randomization tools. Dice adds random variation to your sequences without changing the rhythm, while Spice mutates the gate and velocity. They are perfect for creating evolving, non-repetitive patterns in real-time performance.
Does the KeyStep 37 MK2 have aftertouch?
Yes, it features 37 slim keys with both velocity sensitivity and polyphonic aftertouch. This allows you to add expressive modulation to individual notes just by varying the pressure on the keys.
Can I save my sequences?
Yes. The onboard memory allows you to store up to 8 polyphonic sequences, each up to 64 steps long. These can be saved and recalled instantly during a performance.
How do the Scale and Chord modes work?
Chord mode allows you to play complex, multi-note chords with a single key (featuring 12 preset types). Scale mode quantizes your playing to a selected scale (5 presets + 1 user scale), ensuring that you stay perfectly in key regardless of which notes you hit.
