Animal Factory Vivisect is a deep, versatile 4-channel CV and signal processor, attenuverting mixer, precision voltage offset, and analog noise source. Designed to perform surgical operations on control voltages and audio signals, Vivisect is an indispensable Swiss Army knife for any modular rack.

Each of the four channels features a center-detent bipolar attenuverter with an independent output jack. When output jacks are unpatched, signals cascade cleanly into a master summing bus. A dedicated switchable +/-5V DC offset can be engaged to shift control voltages into ideal modulation ranges, while an independent white noise generator provides analog randomness and percussion synthesis sources.

Rear jumpers allow normalising inputs 2, 3, and 4 to Input 1 for multi-buffered distribution, and an expansion header directly links to the Animal Factory Bonesaw filter for multi-band pole mixing.

FAQs

Q: Can Vivisect process audio signals as well as CV?
A: Yes! While optimised for CV attenuversion and mixing, it works great on audio. Note that due to phase-cancellation topology, fast audio signals may show minor bleed at true zero.

Q: How does the input normalisation work?
A: Rear PCB jumpers allow Input 1 to normalise across channels 2, 3, and 4, turning Vivisect into a buffered mult that can simultaneously output inverted, attenuated, and offset copies of a single source.
