Animal Factory Orobas II is an opulent dual vacuum tube VCA, saturator, and waveshaper module built around two hand-matched 6J32P (EF86 pentode equivalent) vacuum tubes. Selected by MusicRadar as one of the standout Eurorack releases of Winter NAMM, Orobas II returns Animal Factory to its tube amplifier heritage, providing unmatched analog warmth, compression, and wavefolding.

The module contains two identical, fully independent tube VCAs that can be routed in parallel, mono-to-dual-mono, or series for cascaded high-gain saturation. The tubes operate at medium, safe internal voltages specifically chosen so that incoming Eurorack control voltages produce dramatic, musical shifts in harmonic distortion.

With voltage control over both the screen and suppressor grids, Orobas II unlocks unconventional modulation textures unavailable on solid-state VCAs. An integrated CV-controllable feedback loop allows for self-patching and controlled chaotic oscillations.

A: To prevent overloading your Eurorack power bus, Orobas II includes a dedicated external 12V DC power adapter that powers the tube filaments safely and cleanly.

Q: Can the tubes be replaced or rolled?
A: Yes! The module uses standard 9-pin miniature sockets compatible with EF86, 6267, and 6J32P pentode tubes. Each unit ships with tubes hand-matched in-house by Animal Factory.

Q: Can Orobas II be used as an end-of-chain master saturator?
A: Absolutely! Running stereo mixes through Orobas II in parallel adds unmistakable analog glue, dimension, and harmonic richness.
